Hello Wolf people! I'm getting real serious on my BGs. So I'm going to post this and see what you guys think (besides the strokes of the mountains. I'll have to buy the program before I could use the layering tool. )

Image

Those little green tufts are grass with a reflection from the river ;) And the tree has pinecones it in.

Oh and btw do you think I'm ready for a Backgound artist? could i send this in with an app?
Thanks!! Enjoy!

Your reflection is very nice! And I love the soft feathering along the bottom edge of the river.

I think you could add more detail overall, and more subtlety, especially on the mountains...have the color go more gradually from dark to light.

Study how textures look, for instance on the tree bark. Little details can make an image pop. For instance, this bark has moss on it. And this one is very different in texture and would be drawn/painted differently.

Little stuff like that makes for a fancier whole. Especially since Wolf is going for realism in its bg's.

Also if you're looking for a 100% free art program I highly recommend GIMP. I've been able to do stuff with it that I did in Photoshop, they're extremely similar in that regard. Very powerful and versatile program :)

{EDIT} woops just re-read your post about the layering on the mountains XD

Yeah...get GIMP it does that stuff tooo ^ ^

Oh yes thanks Marji!! As soon as I get the program I'll defintaly use layering and the more realistic features it has (It's called ArtRage), since that's a sponser for Backgrounds of Wolf. I currently have the starter edition to ttry it out, and it doesn't let you use some of the tools, like the glitter or airbrush.

Yup, I know about GIMP, and I used it before, but in my opinion, ArtRage is waaaay easier, and it's only $25 bucks. And that's my allowence for a week lol.

But yes I'll use your info as consideration! Thanks so much!
